Why LUFS still matters in 2026

Normalization targets (~-14 LUFS on Spotify) are not the same as what works on a Funktion-One or in a label’s inbox for peak-time techno. If your reference catalog sits at -7, your -12 demo will feel thin — even if it is “streaming safe.”

2. Loud master, weak drop
