Five mix mistakes still common on demo-stage tracks
Low-end buildup, over-wide bass, and uncontrolled highs still stop demos from translating — fix these before you pitch.
1. Sub and kick fighting
High-pass elements that do not need sub information. Sidechain with intent.
2. “Wide” bass that collapses in mono
Keep sub mono; widen only upper bass layers.
3. Harsh 2–6 kHz buildup
Check in mono at moderate volume; TrackIQ can flag spectral hotspots.
4. No reference level
Compare LUFS and tone against a released track in your vertente.
